Speckled Trout

 One of the more difficult species to chase down, big Speckled Trout are the fish of angler's pride in North Carolina. They are hard-striking fish and superb table-fare. Cool weather months from September to December bring good numbers of Trout to our area. These fish average 1-3 pounds, but trophy fish from 5-8 pounds are the ultimate goal. Because of their selective feeding, live baits are often the best choice, but Trout regularly take a variety of jigs, plugs, topwaters, and flies. Late fall and winter trips to the offshore jetties can bring action every cast and big, big Speckled Trout.
