When the summer heat becomes nearly unbearable, the night fishing really kicks into gear. Ladyfish provide hands-down the most exciting night fishing our area has to offer inshore. Most nights from June through early September the Ladyfish are exploding the surface chasing shrimp and finger mullet in the ICW. They are the fastest running and most acrobatic fish in the internal waters and they are a blast to catch on light tackle. Full moon nights and calm winds provide the best conditions for the ladies and we catch them on live bait, artificials, and fly. Due to their poor food quality, this is a catch-and-release fishery.
