Bluefish are plentiful, toothy fighters that cruise the internal waters from April to November. May and November offer the best shots at the bigger bluefish from 6-10 pounds. These fish are often snubbed due to their poor food quality, however they offer an excellent fight and acrobatic show on light tackle.  The smaller (and better eating) Blues from 1-3 pounds aggressively take all types of artificials and flies, including topwater lures. A school of ravenous Blues can make for a great time on topwater. These fish also feed at night and offer exciting topwater and fly-fishing action at night throughout the summer and fall.
